What are the gaps in lactation care in rural areas? With the closing of maternity units in some outstate hospitals, what are the challenges to providing parental support in general and breastfeeding and chestfeeding support to families with new babies? How can I as one person make a difference in closing some of these gaps? Hear from these two colleagues with experience as hospital nurses, doulas and lactation consultants about their “grassroots” efforts to provide and expand lactation services in their area and in a local hospital-clinic system through efforts such as peer support groups, classes, and individual lactation support
